I didn't always know I'd become an editor. My path to this career began with a dual degree program in public administration, which I dropped out of after a year and a half. The COVID-19 pandemic didn't make things any easier back then, but the real reason was something else: I didn't see anyone there whose job I actually wanted.
Since then, I’ve consistently followed this path. I studied communication science, chose visual media for every practical module, and self-taught Premiere Pro and After Effects for the most part because the university simply didn’t cover them enough; I also joined the video team of an online journal as a working student.
I probably got my creative streak from my mother, who studied interior design herself and instilled in me an eye for detail from an early age. From my father, I learned to approach things sensibly, especially when working with others: think things through carefully, communicate clearly, and be reliable.
What really appeals to me about editing: those moments when raw footage becomes a story that touches people. I really felt that for the first time while working on a documentary about a small brewery. Today, that video also serves as a reminder for the people there of someone who is no longer with us. That showed me what editing is truly capable of.

For me, it’s never just about perfects pictures, but about a message that sticks with you. What you should know: I use AI to organize my thoughts. But it’s important to me that my final product remains the result of an honest, human creative process.
For projects where there aren’t many creatives working together at the same time, I enjoy taking on the role of the person who single-handedly sees a project through from concept to final cut. What’s always important to me is genuine collaboration: feedback, brainstorming together, not just going through the motions of a to-do list.
